Hole in the Wall

Not to be confused with a dive site that has the same name, Hole in the Wall by Jonesville is a dilapidated -looking bar/restaurant over the water that's been on the island for years, which can only be accessed by boat, a popular watering hole for yachties anchoring in the area.  It's a great spot to stop for a meal or a few drinks if you're touring around the island.  I first visited Hole in the Wall many, many years ago, when I was new to the island and driving around in a rental car exploring.  Since then, I've gone a few times over the years, but the last visit had been around 7 years ago.
The original owners have passed away, the original bar burned down and has been rebuilt, but the ambiance has stayed the same.  Faded t-shirts from all over decorate the ceiling, a supply of permanent markers are conveniently located on the bar counter if you'd like to sign any of the woodwork, and Cap'n Ed's twinkling eyes and infectious smile will make you feel right at home.
So if you don't have a boat, how can you get there?  If you're interested in doing the mangrove tour in Oakridge, you can ask the driver to stop you there as part of your tour.  If you just want to go to the restaurant, drive to the very end of Jonesville and ask the convenience store there to call over, and the bar will send a boat to pick you up.
Hole in the Wall has a great selection of lunch and dinner items priced from $12-$15, with very big portions.  They're open every day from 10-7.  On Sundays, they draw a big crowd for all you can eat steak and lobster brunch for $30.
